Ethiopian State media have reported that the Ethiopian government has temporarily banned the travel of citizens overseas for employment.
It has also provisionally barred the work permit of agencies facilitating such travels. According to the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, countless Ethiopians have lost their dear lives and undergone untold physical and psychological traumas due to illegal human trafficking.
The measure is said to be taken to better and correct the rights and lives of Ethiopians heading abroad for work from being abused and victimized.October 24, 2013
